The sign that is always right, and never plugged in.
Some information changes a few times a day but has to be correct every minute: which meeting is in the boardroom, who is in bed 12, which clinic a corridor leads to, what today's notice says. Printed signs go stale the moment they are pinned up; small LCD panels need power, a network drop and a media player at every door. FinessePaper takes a third path. It uses full-colour electronic paper, the same reflective technology as e-readers, in wall-mounted displays that run for a year or more on a battery, connect over Wi-Fi, and keep showing their last image even if the battery or the network goes down.
Content comes from the systems you already run. A room-booking calendar, a patient administration system, a signage CMS or any data feed can drive a FinessePaper sign, and FinesseTech's own software turns that data into a sharp, brand-correct image and updates the display the moment the underlying fact changes. The result is signage that reads like paper, updates like a screen and costs almost nothing to run.
FinessePaper is designed, integrated and supported by FinesseTech in Dubai and is available exclusively from FinesseTech across the Middle East.
Hardware: colour ePaper that works anywhere
FinessePaper displays use E Ink Spectra 6, the latest generation of colour electronic paper, with 60,000 colours and a matte, paper-like finish that stays legible in bright light where backlit screens wash out. The brighter the room, the better the sign looks. Because the panel only draws power while the image is changing, a battery lasts for years at a typical door-sign update rate.
Two formats cover most needs. The 13.3" sign (1600 × 1200 pixels, 150 PPI) is the replacement for door plates, meeting-room signs and A4 notices: lightweight, slim and mounted on a standard 50 × 50 VESA pattern in portrait or landscape. The 31.5" poster (2560 × 1440 pixels) in an aluminium housing replaces printed posters and small LCDs in corridors, lobbies and wards, with a removable rechargeable battery, an optional mains adapter and optional clip-on solar modules for maintenance-free operation in daylight. A1 poster formats are available for large-format projects.
Every display is provisioned in minutes from a mobile app, has no external ports to tamper with, receives firmware over the air, and reports its battery level, signal strength and current image back to the console. Installation needs a wall and a Wi-Fi network, nothing else.
Software: one console for every sign
FinessePaper is more than a display; it is a managed signage service built by FinesseTech. The FinessePaper Bridge runs on your premises and connects the signs to your data: Microsoft 365 or Exchange room calendars, hospital patient-administration and HIS systems, your digital-signage CMS, or any JSON feed. It renders each sign at the display's native resolution and updates it exactly when the state changes, when the meeting starts, when the patient is discharged, when the notice is replaced, rather than on a blind timer. A built-in update policy with a minimum interval, quiet hours and a daily budget keeps image changes, and therefore battery use, to a minimum, and only images that have actually changed are sent.
The FinessePaper Console gives facilities and IT teams a single view of the whole estate. Every display appears as a card with its current image, online status, battery level, Wi-Fi signal and whether the content on screen is the latest version; conventional LCD signage can be monitored on the same grid. Each sign keeps a timeline that traces every update from its trigger to the moment the device confirms it is on screen, so support questions are answered in seconds. Alerts flag offline devices, low batteries and failed updates by email or Teams.
Operators can push a notice to any sign on demand with a timed hold, set a fallback image per display for whenever source data is unavailable (your brand or a client banner), and manage everything with role-based access for administrators, operators and viewers. Patient information is minimised on the sign and processed on site, and devices need only outbound HTTPS, which keeps hospital and corporate IT teams comfortable.
Sustainability: signage with a lighter footprint
Electronic paper draws power only when the image changes; between updates it consumes nothing and still shows the content. A FinessePaper sign uses roughly one percent of the energy of an equivalent LCD panel, needs no media player and no 24-hour power supply, and the poster format can run entirely on its solar modules. Across a building with hundreds of door signs, that is a measurable reduction in electrical load, cabling, heat and maintenance visits.
It also ends the print cycle. Door plates, A4 notices and corridor posters that are reprinted, laminated and thrown away every time something changes are replaced by a display that is updated remotely and lasts for years, with a replaceable battery rather than a disposable unit. Reflective ePaper has no backlight, so it is easier on the eyes and on the building's energy bill, and its paper-like finish fits naturally into healthcare, corporate and hospitality interiors.
For organisations reporting against ESG and green-building targets, FinessePaper contributes on three counts at once: lower energy consumption, less paper and plastic waste, and a longer service life with fewer replacements. The console reports battery and update activity per display, giving facilities teams the data to show it.

FinesseTech has delivered digital signage, workspace and visitor solutions across government, healthcare, banking and corporate sites in the Middle East since 2022, and the team behind it has done so in the region for more than a decade. FinessePaper is supplied as a complete package: displays, mounts and accessories, the Bridge and Console software, integration with your booking or patient systems, commissioning, sign templates and a service agreement, all supported locally from Dubai.
How often can a sign update?
As often as every five minutes, and immediately when a booking or patient status changes. Most door signs update a few times a day, which is where battery life is longest.
What happens if the Wi-Fi or the battery fails?
The sign keeps showing its last image. The console flags the display as offline or low on battery so it can be attended to.
Do we need a new content system?
No. FinessePaper takes content from the systems you already run, from room calendars to hospital systems to your existing signage platform. It can also run standalone with its own scheduler and image upload.
Is patient information safe?
Signs carry only what the hospital chooses to show, typically initials, bed and care team; images are rendered on site and devices need only outbound HTTPS.
Can we use our own design?
Yes. Sign templates follow your brand, and every display can carry a custom fallback image for whenever live data is unavailable.
